Post Re: Interview with Renars
It is a pity that everything has been translated into Polish...
Can someone translate this into English?

Post Re: Interview with Renars
You can hear Renars in the background but You're right - it's hard to undesrtand all he says. But I'll try to write that down, maybe not everything as he says but I have the translation as well so the meaning will be the same.. I should have that interview in the original version soon (without the translation) and I'll give You a link then. For now I can translate/right it all down here. I'll try to do it quickly just so it would be understandable so sorry for all mistakes in advance and it ma

The are friends since school time and their band celebrate 20th anniversary this year. They are one of few values of Latvia that hasn't been touched by financial crisis. We talk about rock band - BrainStorm.

Their newest album in Latvian language version got double platinum after just few months. A year after a Russian version came out to conquer the big neighbour country. After longer break and having some rest, Latvian rockmen started to work on the English version of the album. The even made a contest for the fans.

About that and not only in the interview with Polish Radio jurnalist - Anna Polovka speaks the solist - Renars Kaupers.

- Many bands dreams about western market but You have chosen the easter direction. They show You on Russian TV, You perform in Moscow, St. Petersburg. Does it mean You're dissapointed with the West?
- Not at all. You said the word "we chose". Actually, it just happened like many things that happen to BrainStorm. For example Poland. The way we became popular with the song Maybe in Poland. Nobody of us expected the succes. We chose for the single another song - "Online". And suddenly there are news that it's Maybe is on radio stations. As for Russia, it's a huge market, a wonderful market, an interesting market. And with the wetern market I think the less You push on this market the eaiser it will come. It depands on the song.

- We haven't seen BS on stage in Poland for quite a long time. I found some information that few years ago the band was asked to leave Poland. But we remember You and we hope You remember us as well.
- The best memories are from Poland. Anytime You will ask us to come to a concert, it's usually a club or a festival ( I can hear well but the translator says that there need to be someone who invites them.. a club or a festival though I can't hear RK saying that ;)) About this thing with being banned or asked to leave. I think that info comes from one interview when Magic kinda said it. But he said he has never told thing like this. And I suppose he has never said it, it has never happened. I think it was just a misunderstanding or a rumour. How did it happen? i don't know. probably the way it happens with all the rumours.

- In one of Your interviews You called the newest album the bravest step. why?
- I would say that this one was the bravest couse it was the most challanging one. To work with the hip-hop producer for a mainstream band it's not that easy. It's like two basis. It's very hard to build from basis for the house to build I don't know... a sports hall. I don't know if this is the best sport hall in the world but we're very gratefull to Gustavo who'd organised and motivated us till the end. Sometimes we didn't even come to the studio couse we weren't comfortable in what we are doing. But now, looking from the distance, it was a very interesting work.

- Tell us more about the contest You have announced for Your fans on Your website. What is Your offer?
- We ask our fans to join us in the creating process of making the English version of the album. The idea is our creative and I believe and that it's the biggest part of our fans are welcomed to write a poem in English to our song which in Latvian is called Bronza and in Russian it's called Monca. you can go in any direction You like. To translate to previous versions or to create Your own story. Today I'm in the office and I got already some 7, 8 versions of Bronza. I will go home and check them out. But You can still come up with some ideas that we could use them in our album.

bllah... more or less like that :)
