Post First impressions after Tur kaut kam ir jabut release
Will You share? I know it was almost 2 years ago but the album was different than the previous one and I know many people who were disappointed with the album and that was the time when they stopped being that much interested in BS. What were Your first impressions?

Post Re: First impressions after Tur kaut kam ir jabut release
I remember when BS put the album on their site I called my friend, filled with excitement - "oh my God, there it is, finally!" and invited him to listen to it together. But I couldn't sit with calm and patience, 'cause I was all joy with the new album and new portion of BS since so long. I was amazed. In that positive way. Felt like they revealed many new and fresh things to make me think "oh, so it's possible for you to do it this way, hmm, interesting!" and the Music kept saying "hear that!" and then "and that! Isn't it bright? ;)". And that was the very first impression I can recall.

After my emotions calmed down, I got to delve the album deeper. Then appeared some disappointments, I must concede. And started the period I couldn't get used to the "new image", "new style" and wasn't able to find Them in Them. Sth like they stepped into totally another, different way than until then.

At the moment everything has stabled. I got used to the album. I know it by heart. ;) Most often listened BS's CD lately. Nevertheless, in my humble, personal opinion I find TKKIJ the weakest one from their discography. But you know, they showed sth else by this album, as well ;) Who has not wondered "what's going to be next", when they surprised, I think, vast majority of fans with such innovations? ;)

Renars said the new album will be more like the previous ones.

On one hand I understand those people who cannot "feel" this album. I was one of them too. When I heard "And I lie" I was very enthusiastic about it and liked it a lot. But when I heard the rest I was like "What the hell? Where is BrainStorm?". I didn't have the album, I was listening to the songs on their website always doing something else at the same time. Some songs were ok but I guess I was only impressed by Es jau naku and Ai nu lai which I knew already. But it was weird for me, I felt bad that I don't get it, that I couldn't somehow follow this change. When they announced the tour dates I decided I need to go to LV and see it with my own eyes and hear it with my own ears. I need to give them a chance. It was one of few concerts when I wasn't somewhere in the front row and one of few which I spent alone in a big part. But well, I must admit it was a good choice. I absolutely loved the concert, fell in love with Gustavo and was crazy about the GG choir. I saw the same BrainStorm I knew, the huge Riga audience that always makes me somehow proud and happy. And I fell in love with most of the songs from TKKIJ. And my opinion has turned upside down.

The song TKKIJ is in my TOP 5 for sure. It's hard to rate the albums but this one is among those I listen a lot. The last fav English one is "Four shores", actually. So far the English lyrics are ok, much much better then those on Four Shores.
